There are no media or stylistic restrictions. To apply for membership please send :
-a CD of 10-15 hi-res images in .jpeg format
-Information about the work: titles, medium, dimensions, dates, etc.
-An artist statement
-A resume and/or biography
-A self addressed stamped envelope for return of materials
In order for your work to be reviewed, you must submit all of the above items. You may submit any additional information you have that can add to a greater understanding of your work (reviews, websites, etc.)
The committee will review your work at their next meeting and you will have a response within eight weeks. After the initial review, you may be invited to bring original works to the gallery and meet some of the local artist members. Special arrangements can be made for artists who would not be able to bring work personally because of distance or nature of the work. There are two types of membership.
Local Membership
The dues for the local membership are $175 per month. A member is given their first solo exhibition about one and a half years after becoming a member. Future solo exhibitions will occur approximately every two years with participation in at least one annual group show likely. The gallery also organizes exchange shows with other galleries throughout the country in which Local Members are eligible to participate. Local Members participate in the activities of the gallery by attending meetings (6 times per year) and contributing time toward various activities or projects (10-15 hours per year).
Affiliate Membership
The dues for affiliate membership are $200 per month. Privileges are exactly the same as for the Local Members, though participation is not required.
All dues cover the costs of running the gallery, which includes rent, utilities, salary, publicity, etc, and are subject to periodic revisions. Members are allowed to exhibit in other venues, as the membership contract is not exclusive.
